We are on what seems like on the brink of a new era of Al. The landscape of this technology is changing by the day. It is seamlessly and unknowingly being integrated into every part of our online lives. I have deliberately resisted this push, as my stance on Al hasn't changed. I do not agree with data centres, funding billionaires and corporations stealing intellectual property from creatives.
With this huge influx in Al generated 'art', I think there will be increased demand for human-created artworks, writing, design and craft. But how can we signal that these works are not Al quickly and concisely to the untrained eye?
I have made this Human Created mark as a resource to for humans to use, to signal to other humans that there is no Al involved in the process of creating their artwork. It is also a mark that is about championing human creativity.
It is available for free for any individual creative to use. It is a pencil, with a H for Human and person. The reason for the pencil is that humans have drawn and made marks since the dawn of our consciousness and the humble pencil is still how many creatives start a project, whether it be illustration, design scamps, writing, sketching ideas, mind-mapping, doodling, correcting, scribbling. It is fundamental to visualisation and communication, getting ideas from brain onto paper. Al does not do this, it does not think.
This mark can be used next to a credit line, or on a website bio, socials, or even printed on a sticker to be used next to artwork at a tradeshow, for photography, illustration, crafts, animation, CAD, poetry, writing, tattoo art, fabric designs, book covers, album artwork, contracts, email signatures.
